E-jami, an online facility for land records was recently unveiled by the Tripura government.
The online service updates land records and other related records on the internet reducing land dispute cases and enhancing transparency in the land records maintenance system.
The new e-governance project has been developed with financial and technical support from the Centre under the National Land Records Modernisation Programme (NLRMP).
The major components of this programme are computerisation of all land records including mutation, digitisation of maps, integration of textual and spatial data, survey (or re-survey) of all settlement records including creation of original cadastral records.
Around 11 lakh mutation papers have been digitised so far. The government is planning to digitise 5780 maps of the entire state so that citizens can access all the information through the internet.
