The Municipal Corporation of Delhi is going to introduce online registration for admissions to its 1,780 schools across the city.
Parents will be able to log on to the MCD website, fill up forms and submit it. They will be able to verify and confirm admission later by producing the child’s birth certificate. The registration and admission are free of cost.
Though the admission process for the academic session 2011-12 has already started from July 1, the civic body plans to introduce this facility in another week’s time for the ongoing admission session itself. Under the Right to Education policy, admissions will now continue throughout the session and no child will be refused admission.
The opening of such a facility will cut down queues at schools’ admission counters and save time.
The civic body is also providing computers and internet connection to all its schools and it will soon include computer education in its curriculum.
